Premier Benefits: Stop Sitting Around Sick People

As a Health Professional, I interact daily with people who rarely get sick, and also those who get sick far too often. I of course always recommend: proper nutrition, appropriate sleep, and regular exercise. In fact, this is my prescription for myself too, and far more doctors are writing prescriptions for the same thing. Activity and nutrition is absolutely vital to health - that's obvious.

But, what about when we do get sick? We don't always need a doctor do we? Going to the doctor for a cold that won't go away versus going to the doctor for an annual exam or cancer screening are much different. The problem is that our medical staff is short staffed. If your appointment is at 3:00 pm, you are expected to check-in at 2:45 pm and may not even see your doctor until 4:00pm. This means, you have to leave work early and miss out on pay. Today, I want to share how I now get to see my doctor in a different way - via phone/video! Sounds crazy, but with all advances in technology, it's genius! Did you know...?

70% of all doctor visits could have been handled via phone/video?

Also Includes Discounts On:

Vitamins
Dental Care
Vision Coverage

With the Affordable Health Care Act, and Universal Healthcare costs, many Americans are finding themselves in positions that are, well, not so affordable. I've personally  heard many people say that they would rather take the required fine for not purchasing insurance then pay their insurance premium. There are two sides to every story, but the truth be told:

HEALTH CARE COSTS ARE TOO HIGH.

As a business owner myself, I find that it is difficult to make time to see the doctor, and pay out of pocket office visit fees for a simple infection or cough; especially being that I am young, healthy and have supplemental coverage. Financially, it hurts both me, and my business. If you work full-time, attend school, or have a jam packed schedule, you can relate. Even IF I am forced to enroll in Universal Health Care, what if my doctor is overbooked or I simply can't afford to take time to go?

While having this conversation with a respected friend, he told me about a program in which will cover me while I take the time to make my decisions about my personal healthcare. Not only is it an affordable supplemental coverage, I can actually use a Tell-A-Doc over the phone or video conference a doctor directly for minor illnesses. On top of that, he will write a prescription if necessary and fax it to my pharmacy.

I immediately thought about my best friend who is a stay at home mom on another supplemental program. Between all her domestic responsibilities and having a 7 month old, it's hard for her to focus on her own health. Instead of loading up my niece (her baby), she can see her doctor directly from home. It's not just working individuals, but also stay-at-home men and women who will benefit.

You see, most healthy young people, between 18-35 don't visit the doctor too often. This is what the Affordable Health Care Act is banking on for the funding of the new system. The younger people are required to pay in to the system, but likely won't use their physician as much. Not just that, I have several clients and family members over the age of 60 years old who's premiums have also gone up! This is not affordable for any of us.

What if there was another solution for those who find health insurance unafforable, or even for those who already have health insurance, but want a supplement program? There is!

Premier Benefits is my new best friend.

Team No Sleep

I know most of you who know me and clicked this blog, are dying to know what crazy idea I`m coming up with now. Either that, or you yourself are a part of our #TeamNoSleep and #NoDaysOff movement , so you're looking for inspiration or justification to continue NOT SLEEPING.

Not only is no sleep a requirement for success, but it now a movement and a fad. From Twitter, to clothing lines, to everyday communication. It's a positive movement, but how do our bodies benefit or suffer?

Today, I am going to express myself openly and be very raw about my personal struggle with my "Will to Succeed" and my sleeping patterns. We all know that each of us gets only 24 hours in a day. Oprah, Ted Turner, Elvis, Thomas Edison, and everyone else past and present who is deemed "successful" gets the same amount of hours as we do. We also know that success goes beyond time management and efficiency, but actually cuts into number of hours we have. All successful people sacrifice sleep.

I'd like to share some pros and cons of no sleep versus sleep. I also want your feedback on why you get proper sleep, or why you continuously sacrifice sleep. Here are the pros and cons. Ready?

             PROS                                                     CONS

TEAM NO SLEEP

More hours to work toward my dream                                             Little repair/recovery time
Fit double workouts per day into my schedule                                  Homrone irregulation
Relate to other #TeamNoSleep 'ers                                                  Less connection to #TeamNoSleep 'ers
Keep up my social media                                                                 Less networking on Social Media
Rarely ever miss a new topic or forum                                              Miss too much new information
Reading all the blogs I`m subscribed to.                                            Don't get to read all of my blogs
Pride in my busyness                                                                        Less physical energy
High mental energy (will to succeed)                                                 Guilt from not being productive enough.
Great discipline                                                                                 Huge mental stress

PROPER SLEEP

Repair/Recovery Optimized                                                             Increased need for time management
Higher Metabolism                                                                          Less time to achieve everything
Better Focus in daily tasks                                                               Decreased demand of will to push
More physical energy                                                                      Less flexibility
Required less mental strain                                                               Have to be in bed early (nightowl)
Improved physical appearance (beauty)                                           Feelings of guilt for not being the best

As you can see, off of the top of my head I have been considering the PROS/CONS for both: PROPER SLEEP or TEAM NO SLEEP. It is a continuous battle when you want to be successful. You know your body needs sleep, but you don't want to get lazy and over-indulge. While you must listen to your body when you need sleep, you can't sleep on opportunity. For those who are stronger in mind than in body, you can relate. However, for those stronger in body - Athletes, you can probably weigh out for you that sleep is absolutely essential for your performance.

For me, this is a struggle. The last 3-4 years I have run on an average of 4 hours of sleep per night. However, I have found that my body requires sleep during this season. Now, I'm up to 8 hours some nights. I struggle with weighing my pros and cons here. For many of us, busyness is an idol in which we gratify and crave. I know for me it is. On the other hand, as a health professional, and someone with Thyroid Disease, I have found that working out less, but sleeping more has actually helped me lose excess body fat. While I could go on and on, I want your opinion.

To all of you TEAM NO SLEEP ' ers I want your feedback on this one! Why do you sacrifice sleep? Is it because of an opportunity, or is it daily and year round for you? Please feel free to add your PROS/CONS and share your struggle.
